Anyone willing to join Indian army as an officer should appear for CDS exam conducted by UPSC.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services Exam. UPSC conducts the exam twice a year for recruitment of officers in Indian Army.

Eligibility criteria for CDS exam are as under:-

- Nationality : Indian.

- Academic Qualification:

IMA/OTA - Bachelors degree in any stream.

Indian Naval Academy -B.E./B.Tech.

Indian Air Force Academy - 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics or B.E./ B.Tech.

-Age criteria :

IMA - 19 years to 24 years.

Indian Naval Academy -19 years to 22 years.

Indian Air Force Academy -19 years to 23 years.

OTA - 19 years to 25 years.

-Selection Criteria :

*Written Exam

*Interview by Services Selection Board.

Yes you can join Indian Army after passing your 12th standard with the mathematics stream through NDA entrance exam.

Nationality- only Indian candidates me apply.

Only male candidates may make use of NDA entry.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Age limit should be in between 16.5 to 19.5 years.

Training details- 3 years at NDA followed by 1 year training at IMA.

Notification date in the month of June and December.

This exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

The first stage of the selection process is NDA written examination and then after students who secure minimum qualification marks in NDA written examination are than cold for appear for SSB interview.

To join Indian Army as an officer you have to appear and qualify in NDA entrance examination.

The examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year and the eligibility to appear for examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing 12th from a recognised board.

The age limit to appear for examination is 16.5-19.5 years. The examination is conducted in two stages and candidates have to qualify in both stages of examination for final selection.

Now you can appear for NDA but if you want to join after bachelor degree you have to appear and qualify in CDS. Both examination is conducted by UPSC twice every year.

The eligibility to appear for NDA examination is :-

Candidate must have passed or pursuing in 12th from a recognised board.

Candidate's age must be between 16.5-19.5 years.

Only male candidates are eligible to appear for examination.

So, you can appear for examination if have above qualification. The examination is conducted in two stages as written and SSB.

After completing your graduation from a recognized college/university you have to appear for CDS (Combined Defence Service) examination in order to join Indian Army. Your age should be in between 19 to 24 years and you must be an Indian citizen. You should have a normal eyesight of 6/6 and your height should be more than 157 cms. You should be mentally and physically fit. After qualifying the examination you have to clear the physical test followed by personal interview which will decide your selection.
