Is there any entrance exam to join in B.A.B.L (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws) course? And, what is the further benefit degree that I have to take after finishing this BABL course to become a Judge?

B.A LLB is five year undergraduate course and the eligibility to get admission in the course is that candidate must have passed std 12th from a recognised board in any stream.

Entrance examination is conducted for admission in premier institutions. Candidates after qualifying in the examination will become eligible to appear for judicial service examination and after qualifying in it eligible for appointment as judges in subordinate courts.

Admission to the BA LLB course is done on the basis of various entrance examinations that are conducted both nationally and state-wise. Some of them are CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), AILET (All India Law Entrance Test), LSAT (Law School Admission Test).

After completing BA LLB you can become a judge by appearing and clearing the State Judicial Service Examination and must have practiced as a lawyer in the high court for 7-10 years. The experience varies from state to state and the minimum age should not be less than 45 years.
