I am a student of nit jamshedpur. i am a second year student .my branch is civil engineering. i want to know that is there any summer internship programme for civil engineering students and if yes then what is the procedure for applying for the same. what is the duration of the programme and is there any fees required if yes then what is the amount.

Yes, there are ample chances of internship opportunities for civil engineering students especially during the summers. However, since you are in the second year of engineering so it is recommended to go for industrial training as most of the companies prefer third and fourth year engineering students for internships. Industrial training will increase the value of your resume and after third year you can opt for internship opportunity. The duration of internship varies from organization to organization usually 45 days- 90 days. Since you are from civil engineering, so you can pursue the internship in -

- PSUs like Coal India, IOCL, etc.
- Telecom companies like BSNL, MTNL,etc.
- Indian Railways
- Metro Railways
- Private sector manufacturing plants like Tata Power, LnT, etc.
