I want to do PhD in IIT in part time. What will be the main criteria for a part time candidate to be selected?

Criteria for part-time Ph.D. from IIT?

The candidate should have a minimum experience of 2 (two) years (full time) after B. Tech./M. Tech/M. Sc./M.A. or equivalent as on the date of registration.
The candidate should have qualified the entrance test to get admission to the university.

The required minimum qualification for admission to a Ph. D Program shall normally be a two years Master's OR M. Phil Degree from any accredited Indian or Foreign University in the relevant field. She/he must have obtained 55% marks or Equivalent Grade in the Master's.

There is no age restrictions to pursue this course.

Part time PHD
Research scholar under the part time program will carry out major part or all of research work at IIT Ropar the feasibility of doing this with sufficient and as it will be an important consideration in admitting the scholar in the category .

The candidate should be employed in a reputed university or organisation.

Admission to this program is open to the department has furnished Institute website advertisement registration under this program is it open in following departments

>PhD in engineering:- civil chemical computer science electrical mechanical biomedical metallurgical and materials

>PhD in science Mathematics chemistry physics

>PhD in Humanities and social science
Minimum Eligibility requirement in addition to possessing the academic qualification mention the respective department centres under regular PhD programme and applicants should fulfill the following requirements also.

Gate or equivalent qualification

Minimum qualification for this candidate is the same as for full time candidate accept that the requirement of qualifying in a national examination is waived off

Part time PhD is available at various colleges such as IIT or JNU College and other top universities in India.

IIT offers part time postgraduate program leading to M.tech /PhD degree for local professionally employed personnel.

Admission are held twice a year May and December.
Application can be submitted online at tgeir official website starting march and October respectively.
Additional requirements include valid score through GATE /CEED/UGC NET.
