You can also apply for Ph.D. scholarships in India and many universities also offer fellowships to PhD candidates.

Is Part Time M.Tech degree holder eligible to do PhD Programme?

The Candidate should have completed a post graduation course with a minimum of 55% marks to be eligible for PhD Programme.

The candidate then will have to qualify the entrance test like NET, GATE to get admission in PhD.

The duration of PhD after M.tech is 3-5 yrs.

GATE score is essential for doctoral degree after m.tech especially if one applies in IIT or NIIT.

Some universities admit students on the basis of NET/GATE score while some conduct their own entrance exam.
For getting admission one has to qualify the entrance exam.
