Dear friends, I am willing to do PhD in Economics. I am doing MPhil in Anna University and want to join IGNOU for this PhD program. What are the requirements I have to undergo for PhD admission in this university?

Requirements to get PhD(Economics) admission in IGNOU;

You must hold a MPhil degree and a Post-Graduate degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from any recognized university.
Or
You must have a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ ST/ PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from any recognized university and 5 years of teaching/ industry/ administration/ professional experience at senior level.

Eligibility criteria for PhD in Economics through IGNOU University:


Completed M. Phil and post graduate degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognised University.

Completed Master degree with minimum 55% marks and have five years professional Experience at senior level.

There is no age bar.

Full program fees will be rupees 7000 per year.

Requirements to pursue PhD in Economics in IGNOU University:

M.Phil degree and a post graduate degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks.
Or masters degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade from university or recognised Institution of Higher Learning and 5 years of teaching Experience at senior level.

There is no minimum age bar and no maximum age bar.
