I don't think common entrance exam for both medical and engineering is good idea. both fields are totally different and student prepare for these and are benefitted in future.

It is good because it helps to judge all candidates on a single platform

i think the common entrance exam is the best idea because whats the use having so many exams when the best students are writing only one type of exam and always trying to get entry into only particular type of colleges

i think its gud idea but it will take a lot of hardwork.......and i think there should be different common entrance test for biology nd maths

yess it is always good to go through common entrance exam because all known colleges comes under this and they are not expensive also

Medical and Engineering are two different fields. One has Biology and the other Maths. We cannot judge students with two different fields through one exam. If there is only a slight difference, then every engineer would be a doctor and every doctor an engineer !!!

Conducting a common entrance exam for both medical & engineering is a good idea.
It will reduce the stress of the student to sit for physics & chemistry paper twice.......
Sufferings of the student will be reduced to a significant level....

yeah,it is a good decision taken Mr.sibal because India is the most competitive country in the world in terms of students appearing for various national exams. The number of students to seats ratio; be it in engineering, medicine or MBA can go from 5:1 to sometimes 15:1. Some of the mind boggling statistics include

* 13 lakh students appeared for AIEEE 2010
* More than 2 lakh students appeared for CBSE PMT 2009
* Around 3 lakh students appeared for CAT 2009

Add to this the lakhs of students who write various other hundreds of exams throughout a period of two – three months and end up spending thousands in exam fees alone.

This will help students seeking admission into engineering and medical colleges for they will take a single entrance exam instead of two now.

because most of the entrance exams have different slay-bus and students have to prepare for them separately that poses problems to the students
with this students have to prepare for one time

common entrance exam for engineering and medical is a good idea because it gives equal oppurtunity to all the students to compete fairly in an exam which is equal for all....if we select based on 10+2 marks then it may vary from region to region based on board they appear...that will be not a fair means to evaluate the ability of ay student...
so common entrance exam is a fair deal.....

Yes it is a good decision for common entrance exam for engineering and medical.Through this entrance exam we can sort out students capability our the students and so the eligible students will get change.It will be equal for everybody.There won't be any partiality and every one will be satisfied.

no, i don't support that there must be a common entrance exam for engineering and medical. i thing that they both are different. one is biology and another is mathematics. the student who is interested in biology but not in mathematics and vice versa, that student can not pass this examination.

it will be good if you concentrate on one field...otherwise your concentration may be diverted and may miss both..

i think it is a very good decision taken by Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal as Physics and chemistry are the common subjects for the both entrance exam.It will reduce the pressure on students who have to appear for many entrance exams.

both are common only maths and biology are different

so if there is common entrance exam then it will not

create any problem for the student.


and job of coordinators will be simpler

engineering are required more practical thing so there are more numerical questions but in medical are theoretical oriented so we should not think for common entrance exam for engineering and medical fields.
we prefer doc for getting cured and health disorders,
an engineer for scientific and also electrical,and civil works.
we cannot get the right person with right personality for the job.

I think the decision of Common entrance exam for both medical as well as engineering is a very good decision, i personally appreciate it because it will save candidate's time as well as money to fill up different form & appearing exams conducted in different cities.

& also different exams have different pattern for which candidates are confused about all different exams & it is also difficult to follow different pattern for these entrance exams.

Because Engineering and Medical are two different fields.

It's difficult for Engineering students to do Biology and for Medical students to do Maths.

So, I think it would be more difficult for both.

It is absolutely a fantastic decision because of which we can judge the intelligence ,hard work and punctuality of a student.
the student who is only fit for the particular course can get the seat while the other will be discarded.by this we are doing a loyalty among the students who works hard.

I want to atten the ISAT exam(2012)... So I need a help of a popular and good coaching institute around kolkata.. If you suggest me some institute I shall be very greatful..
N.B: also suggest postal coaching & other courses similar to ISAT exam patern.

it is a good decision that a comman enterance examination must be set up to get an admission into any engineering college it reduces the number of examination a student has to write one after the another

its very necessary to have CET exams for engineering and medicine...

without CET exams,corruptions play an important role in the admission to colleges...

and also many talented students gets hidden in the good colleges..

if CET exams are conducted,good engineers and doctor will come over in india...

Yes common entrance exam for enginnering and medical is agood idea.Common entrance conducted by west Bangal.This entrance exam also known as COMATE.This exam conducted to fill seat of west bangal colleges.

what i think is ,this decision is not that good.
engineering and medical students have different strategy.. like medical student needs things to be by hearted where as engineering student should be intelligent and solve problems.. both streams should be treated differently.. so their testing methods for both the streams should also be kept different ...the only advantage is the student can jump to medical or engineering if he likes...

Dear student,
It is like a boon to an average student who may score a rank of 5600 in AIPMT but do not get through any other exam.A rank of 5600 is not helpful in the current system,but it will be helpful if there is only one exam.

Secondly a candidate may be able to compete for all the colleges in India with a single exam.

Thirdly a student would be able to pocket thousands of money which he would have spent travelling to other centres or state for different exam.

Thank god...there is a single exam.

No this is not working. Dont go for this type of entrance. It is affected by many students. So it is not happen at anytime.

in my view a separate entrance exam must be conducted for both engineering and medicine, but the exam conducted must be an all india exam and students can get seat in any other state based on their merit.

it is an bad idea.because we can not filter good students through single test.because both exams are different syllabus.

through Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical decided the intelignt student over all India.Only one exam is given by student for all India collages.

Yes it's a good decision taken by kapil sibbal, all currently different states have different number of colleges so all the states are not getting equal access to this seats , with the help of this common entrance exam every student in our country will have equal access to all the engineering and medical colleges , thats my view

I think this is a right move to enhance level of education in India without expending lot of amount as a money.

If government spending thousands of rupees in organizing a single examination then think how much it cost for hundreds of exams and also according to student point of view, it is very beneficial because it will overcome the stress that run through out the year for multiple exams.

one should concentrate on one field only not on different fields.everyone should get the oppertunity

the students will have a common syllabus . They will be cut from extra pressure they had due to different exams .they will also get more time for preparation of a common exam
