Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
well i vote in for a "NO", because though it has advantages, i feel disadvantages takes over the advantages. if the exam goes all india then people in the remote places who always answered for the state will b discouraged. There rank in their own state will b good but wen it comes to all india it might b way behind. as a result they would get a college they dont want to go and moreover if they are financiall not sound then it would b difficult for them to meet the expenses of the colleges n hostel plus the travelling expences from their place of study to their hometown. this will shell out a lot of money. and mayb just mayb, godforbid it should not but there will b a large number of dropouts. so for these reasons i would not want it to b an all india entrance for either engineering or medicine. thank you...

No its not a good decision. Both fields are very different and both fields should have diffrent entrance paper. It will a good decision for all the students. They get good opportunies. Most of people said that engineering entrance paper is easy as compare to medical entrance paper. So i want to tell that the engineering entrnce paper IIT-JEE as hard as medical entrnce paper. If any student have the ability then he should get success.SO in my opinion its better for all the students that both fields have thier seperate entrance exams. |

its really the fantastic concept developed by our super talented education ministry.
its really helpful to find out the talents from the both fields. because the common entrance in all over india will produce the best of the best engineers and doctors. |

Re:Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
It is not a good decision because all over India not same syllabus different board/different state and different syllabus. If it is common test by Minister then it should be clear the syllabus portion but it is not done. Hence remote village of India those who are used to read in mother language the will suffer lot. |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
yup....
its gonna be one of the best decision by mr sibal as 4 any test u will require coaching, which may be affordable by many in fact a lot of parents,& in schools materials is not taught properly ultimately student will have to ply upon coaching which is the worst for those who dont have sufficient money,so ultimately the student wont get a better college, though he deserves................ |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
No it is not good because before students were getting many chances to give the exam and if they fail in one exam then they try for another. They give so many exams that in any one they can get to be selected. But now due one exam if a student doesnot do good and is not selected then he/she has to wait for another one year to give the exam and one year of his/her study life is wasted. so, it is bad.

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
i'm not happy with the decision taken by mr.sibbal, as the syllabus of state boards & cbse board are not same,if the students appear the cet it'll not be so effective for them. Apart from this, CET syllabus as I heard would be a combination CBSE,ICSE and various state boards, students have to prepare themselves for the Board exam first and they will get very less time span to get themselves ready for the CET.There'll be no option available for them because the entrance will be on whole India basis, earlier the students had options regarding colleges & various types of joint entrance exams throughout the country , but now if they miss the chance then only capitation fee can help them.
how can it be helpful??????? think logically..... it's a matter of their future. |

common entrance should not be there because poor students from villages cannot cope up with city student and hence their chance to get good college will get reduced

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
Its a good idea to have common entrance exam for both engineering and medical streams, because it mainly reduces the stress on the students to prepare for different exams with different syllabus. If a common exam is being conducted,it will also avoid confusion in the minds of the students to choose which college to join or not to join. For the students who are not able to decide their interests, this test will prove helpful as the marks obtained in it will provide him the correct path.

Yes, its a good idea as all can compete with each other regardless of the branches. But some criteria has to be made to differentiate between them after qualifying.

hi..
yes,it is such a good decision .Many high school leavers do not know their own minds, aptitudes or skills. They not only enter into the wrong career, but they also deprive other engineers or doctors to emerge by taking away their rightful career opportunities, writes the common entrance exam. |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
Yes. Common entrance exam for engineering and medical is a good decision. It will give a fair chance to everyone. There will be no partiality. It is a good way to test the knowledge in the subjects of students. Earlier there were some entrance tests which were easy and some were tough, so students felt cheated. But after the one entrance exam is applied, there will be an equal test for everyone.

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
No, common entrance exam is not needed for selecting a student in Medical and engineering stream because engineering and medical are two different streams and both of them have different requirements.
By making common entrance exam the only thing rises is stress. |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
no... i dont think its a good idea at all.. at a student in medical line have to study subjects which are different from an engineering student.. for eg.. mathematics for them is quite different.. so how is it fair to expect a student from medical line to solve question made for engineering student.. its not going to help grow the level of education which is already at a deep level..

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
In my view, It is good decision to maintain common entrance exam for Medical and Engineering.
As M.P.C and Bi.P.C Students are studying maths in common to them, They will expect same maths paper for them. Then Only There will be no controvercies between them. If They have no same maths paper, contradiction arises between them. Another reason is that they both study coordinately the common subjects. They will get burden if they don't have common exam. |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
It is not good to have common entrance exam for both engineering and medical. It is just my view only.
We all know if a student can think logically, then he will suitable to study engineering. And we all know mathematics is must and should for engineering student. For medical students there is no use to study mathematics. If common exam is there for both, will it contain maths are not?. If it contains maths then how much difficulty for medical students. And if it doesn't contain maths then how it will entrance exam to engineering students. |

Definitely yes.The reason is cet is test where real intelligence of a person is tested. There r so many students because of so many mistakes fail to score good marks in languages .So a person can a good rank in cet if he/she has the ability to solve quickly. That's what cet is all about .

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
Common entrance exam for both medicine and engineering is not a good decision. The content in medicine and engineering streams are completely different.Interests of students of medicine and engineering may different. The medicine student may be poor in engineering subjects which are not related to medicine and vice versa. So common entrance exam for engineering and medicine is not good.
There should be different entrance exams for engineering and medicine with contents what they actually need in their courses. |

Re: Common Entrance Exam for Engineering and Medical - Is it a good decision?
Hello friend
The common entrance exam for the Engineering and Medical students is not possible because both the fields are entirely different and the subjects may also differ for the Engineering and Medical students. Both the courses are entirely different and the engineering students have Mathematics as a major subject whereas medical students have the Biology as the major subject. So,it is not possible to conduct the common entrance exam for the Engineering and Medical Students. Thank You |
