I am 31 year girl from general category, I have done PGDM from AICTE approved university in last year. Am I eligible for NET JRF.

The eligibility for NET JRF (National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship) is a candidate must have passed a master's degree or equivalent with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. The age limit to apply to the current cycle 2022 should not be more than 31 years as of the 1st October 2022.

NET JRF is one of the most popular schemes started by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Earlier it was conducted by the CBSE but now it is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) on behalf of UGC twice a year.

Recently the upper age limit has increased to 31 years .

If a candidate is applying for exam , they must keep in mind that at that time there age does not exceed 31 years.

They must have completed their masters degree from a recognised board with atleast 55 to 60% marks.
Reserved category is provided 5% relaxation.

The eligibility criteria for NET JRF is a master's degree.

The education should be completed under the scheme of 10+2+3+2 at least as prescribed by the UGC.

If you possess the above criteria of education, you are eligible for NET JRF.

Eligibility criteria required to apply for NET JRF Examination:

The basic eligibility criteria required to apply for this NET JRF Examination is given below,

>> The maximum age should not exceed 31 years of age in order to be eligible.

>> Age criteria may be considered as on 1st October, 2022 if it is NET JRF 2022 Examination.

>> As far as my best knowledge is concerned, there is an age relaxation of 5 years for women category candidates. In this case, we may say 36 years is the upper age limit. Based on this, I can say that you are certainly eligible to apply for this Examination with the criteria mentioned above.

Eligibility criteria for NET JRF:-

1) Educational qualification:-
Candidates applying must have obtained a least 55% marks in their Master's Degree.
2) Age Limit:-
The upper age limit for JRF has been increased from 30 years to 31 years.
3) Nationality:- Must be Indian.

The maximum age limit to be eligible for appearing in UGC NET for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) option is 30 years for general category candidates which is relaxed for candidates belonging to reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

So, being 31 year old and belonging to General Category, you are not eligible for appearing in UGC NET for JRF but you can appear in the same examination if you are interested in Assistant Professor option.

Number of Attempts - No limit on attempts for JRF & AP.

So, you are not eligible to appear for the examination being a general category candidate. NET JRF is conducted by UGC twice in a year.

NTA conducts NET for the JRF as well as associate professor.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed master degree with minimum 55% aggregate and relaxation for reserved category.

Being 31 years old and belonging to General Category, you are not eligible to apply for UGC NET JRF as the maximum age permissible for getting JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) through UGC NET is 30 years for General category candidates. However, you can appear in the same examination if you are interested in becoming Assistant Professor.
