What is the difference between MSc IT and MSc Computer science?


What is the difference between msc it and msc computer science? I am thinking of doing this course at my Post graduate level this year.

The difference between MSc IT and MSc CS can be seen below.

The major difference between MSc IT and MSc CS is that MSc Information Technology deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes, while, MSc Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications.

Both of these courses are equally recognized and has nearly same scope.

The difference between MSc in Information Technology and MSc in Computer Science is IT has more technology-based and the curriculum about the available technologies and affects the efficient working of the computers in day to day working. Computer Science is a core field and is much wider than IT in terms of the field of study and research.

MSc in Information Technology is designed to explore different types of technology applications and the way in which information is created exchanged and stored. The candidate will learn how to write code and can explore areas such as information security software application system design and database.

MSc in Computer Science includes software engineering, system development, natural computation, mathematical foundations, and artificial intelligence. This course provides knowledge about the technicalities of the domain of computer science. It provides the opportunity to develop proficiency and core competence in the field of Computer Science.
