For this paper, there will be two sections provided. The first section has 8 questions out of which 5 havw to be answered and each carry 8 marks. The questions will include Merits and demerits of Engler and Prantl system of classification as well as Type concept. There will also be questions on Herbalists and Alkaloids. The student needs to learn about the different kinds of Concept of ecosystem and Population interactions. Along with this there will also be questions on Conservation of natural resources and Evolution of present day vegetation. The second section will have long questions of 15 marks. These may have questions that ask to describe the vegetation types in India or to describe the dicta of Hutchinson system of classification. There may be questions of merits and demerits. There can also be essay questions on principles of plant taxonomy. And the student can be asked on the role played by cytology in resolving taxonomic disputes.
