The Thermodynamics of Elastomers and Polymers is of 70 marks. There are 6 questions in the paper, and the student is required to answer all questions. All questions have shorter sub parts and therefore the paper is very scoring. The first question has 7 objective type questions of 2 marks each, some of the questions are difference between space function and path function, reversible and irreversible process, definitions of degree of freedom, entropy, net calorific value, gross calorific value and short mathematical problems. The subsequent questions are longer questions, but most of them have internal choice giving the students plenty of scope for answering. The marking of each question is 14. Some of the common questions of this section are definition of State of system, Isochoric, Isobaric, Isentropic processes, deriving the formula for Work done in case of a reversible Isothermal process with ideal gas, formula for entropy change of an ideal gas and mathematical problems.
