Gujarat Technological University also provides Bachelors in Engineering in Biotechnology. Biotechnology is an engineering stream in which both biology and technology is involved. In this course knowledge regarding biology is also imparted to the students. In the third semester, there is a paper called Introductory Biology. This subject introduces basic concepts in Biology. The subject code for this paper is 130401.

Type of the paper

The introductory Biology paper has the same pattern as other papers in the 3rd semester of Biotechnology Engineering. All the questions given in the paper are compulsory. There are altogether five questions. No options are available for the first question but rest of the four questions has two questions. Out of the two questions only is to be answered. Students must answer that question in which they are very confident and the question is very scoring.

Marks for each question

Each question carries same marks. The paper is of 70 marks. Each question carries 14 marks. Many questions have sub questions and marks for those questions are also mentioned on the paper. Usually two sub questions are there and each sub question carries 7 marks.

Time given for completing the paper

To complete the paper maximum of 2.30 hours are given. Students must complete the paper in 2.30 hours.
