It includes electron dynamics, motion of charged particles, electrostatic and magnetic focusing, parallel and perpendicular electric, magnetic fields, junction diode characteristics, semi-conductor types, mass action law, continuity equation, hall effect, volt-ampere characteristics of diode, zener diode, caractar diode, LED, LCD, photo diode, rectifiers (half wave,full wave), filters (inductor, capacitor, L,P section filter), regulators (series and shunt), transistor and FET (junction, construction, alpha, input and output characteristics, common emitter and collector configurations), biasing (BJT, self-bias, collector to bias) and stabilization (factors, compensation techniques), amplifiers(voltage, current gain, input and output impedance, transistor configurations), feed-back amplifiers, oscillators.

Paper Pattern: In this paper, the candidates are required to answer 5 questions out of the given eight questions. Each of the questions is subjective type and carries 16 marks each.

Key Points: The syllabus is divided unit wise and one question can be expected from each unit. Marks distribution will be uniform. Previous question papers can be viewed for reference.
