Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate School Admissions- Computer and Systems Sciences Papers are designed to test a student’s fundamental concepts in this subject. It is not the ordinary kind of rote learning that students are tested on here. The paper has part A, which is compulsory one, part B and part C. Candidates have to answer and one from B and C. All questions have 4 marks and wrong answer will draw a penalty of 1 negative mark. In Part A Questions can be asked from topics like probability, the chance of inflation and how it must be tackled by the government, suing theories of probability, problem of maximizing, probability sums based on the flipping of coins and so on. It should be noted that most of the questions are numerical based, and care should be taken to apply the fundamentals of learning in the question paper.
