Am I eligible to apply for various government jobs while doing B.E course? What is the minimum criteria asked to apply for the government jobs? Can you please guide me with the information on the same? Awaiting to get the response on this.

Yes, you are eligible for government jobs. So you can apply for IES and BSNL JTO exam.

IES exam:-

If you have completed bachelor of engineering degree course then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination but, only under these streams -CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You can choose any one subject from above mentioned subjects.

The applicant age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

BSNL JTO exam:-

If you have completed BE or B.Tech or equivalent degree from below given departments from a recognized Institution/University, then you are eligible for BSNL JTO exam. The eligible departments are,

i. Telecommunication
ii. Electronics
iii. Radio
iv. Computer
v. Electrical
vi. Information Technology

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation :-

SC/ST = 5 years
OBC =3 years
PWD =10 years
Ex-Servicemen = 5 years

For a government job with the eligibility of Engineering Graduates, you have to complete your graduation, i.e. B.E. There are some vacancies for those posts the eligibility will be 10th pass or 12th pass. You can apply for these posts while doing B.E it. The job profile will be low. So it is always advisable to complete your graduation and then apply for jobs that will suit the engineering graduates. It is useful if you clear GATE also for a government PSU job. The selection will be done through a written test and interview. So you have to prepare well for the written test and interview. You should be very sound technically to get a job in the government sector as the competition will be much higher.

If you are still pursuing graduation then better to complete it first the think of applying for the government jobs. One must be graduated from a recognized university from any stream.Candidates who belongs to general category their stipulated minimum age is 21 years & maximum age is 30 years. SC/ST Category Candidates they get the age relaxation of 5 years which mean they can apply till the age of 35 years. OBC Category Candidates they get the age relaxation of 3 years which mean they can apply till the age of 33 year. Once graduation completed you can apply for:-
