The minimum eligibility criteria to get Canada Student Visa is that you must have scored a minimum of 5.5 bands overall and 6.0 or more in each of the four IELTS sections for undergraduate courses in order to qualify for a Canada student visa to study in Canada. For graduate courses, you must receive a score of 6.5 bands, with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components.

If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria, then you are eligible to apply for a Canada student visa.

Yes, it is possible to apply for a Canadian visa with an IELTS score of 5.5 bands, but it may depend on the type of visa you are applying for and the specific requirements of the program or institution you wish to attend.

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is one of the accepted English language proficiency tests for most Canadian visas and immigration programs. However, the required IELTS score may vary depending on the visa category and the specific institution or program you are applying for.

For example, if you are applying for a study permit to attend a university or college in Canada, you will typically need to provide evidence of a higher level of English proficiency, such as a score of at least 6.0 bands or higher on the IELTS. Similarly, if you are applying for a work permit or permanent residency, you may need to meet higher language proficiency requirements.

It's essential to check the specific requirements of the program or visa category you are applying for to determine the minimum IELTS score required. It's also important to note that meeting the minimum IELTS score requirement does not guarantee that your visa application will be approved, as other factors such as your academic background, work experience, and financial resources will also be considered.
