Orissa Hydro Power Corporation Limited shortly called as OHPC was incorporated in the year 1995 under the Companies Act. The company began its commercial operations from the financial year 1996-97. It is presently a leading profit-making state Public Sector Undertaking with one inter-state project and six multi-location project. The corporation is planning to set up its new hydro projects and it has diversified into setting up a thermal power project by entering into agreement with OMC Limited.

Orissa Hydro Power Corporation Limited is planning to recruit energetic, qualified and bright candidates for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee.

Name of the position: Graduate Engineer Trainee (Electrical – 45, Civil – 3)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies including electrical and civil engineering trainees is 48

Period of Training: One Year

Training Stipend: Candidates will be offered with a consolidates stipend of Rs. 12000 per month plus medical allowance of Rs. 200 per month and an additional amount of Rs. 1000 per month will be paid for trainees, who are posted in Potteru, Khatiguda, Mukhiguda and Balimela for Remote Area Allowance.

Educational Qualification:

GET (Electrical): Candidates must have done their graduation in Electrical Engineering on a full-time basis from a recognized institution/university that has AICTE approval with not less than 60% of aggregate marks. Even candidates who have AMIE in Electrical Engineering with not less than 50% of aggregate marks can apply.

GET (Civil): Candidates must have done their graduation in Civil Engineering on a full-time basis from a recognized institution/university that has AICTE approval with not less than 60% of aggregate marks. Even candidates who have AMIE in Civil Engineering with not less than 50% of aggregate marks can apply.

Age Requirement: To apply for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee in OHPC, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 32 years of age as on 1st of May 2011. Upper Age limit is relaxed up to five year for SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen and three years for SEBC and 10 years for PH Candidates respectively.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the written test and personal interview.
