Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management conducts every year an admission process for its post graduate programs in management: PGPM (General) & PGPM (Finance) for the aspiring candidates. The institute is amongst the reputed management institutes of India and has a decent infrastructure and facilities for management education. Its PGPM (General) course has 120 seats while the PGDM (Finance) program has 60 seats. The institute has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education. This institute was founded by Lal Bahadur Shastri Educational Trust which is amongst the prestigious education trust in Delhi.

Candidates are shortlisted for PG Management programs of LBSIM on the basis of their CAT scores.  The Weightage for final selection will be 60:40 for CAT score and Group Discussion, Extempore, work experience, academic performance and Personal Interview. Candidates have to also apply separately for admission in LBSIM. The candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their scores in CAT have to appear in a further selection process consisting of a Group Discussion, Extempore and Personal Interview after which the final selections are made. GD/Extempore/Personal Interview will be conducted in 5 cities: Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The institute provides excellent placement facilities to its students in some of the well known firms of India. The students are well trained before their final year exam in order to give them complete knowledge about their courses. The major recruiters of this institute are listed as State of Bank of India, IDBI bank, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Nestle, Brilliant Industries, TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra etc.

Eligibility criteria:

A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institute with atleast 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Graduation. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply.

Availability of Application forms:

The application forms for LBS Institute of Management will be directly available from the institute for Rs. 1600. Candidates can also obtain the application form by sending a demand draft of Rs 1675 in favor of ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management’. Application form can also be downloaded through the website www.lbsim.ac.in

Important Dates:

• Availability of Application forms from: January 3rd week, 2011

• Last date of submitting completed application forms: April 1st week, 2011

• GD/Extempore/Interview: February 3rd week, 2011

Selection process:

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT scores. The shortlisted candidates are then called for further selection process consisting of a Group Discussion, Extempore and Personal Interview after which the final selections are made.
