Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Osmania University PhD Library and Information Science Entrance Exam, the candidates should have passed post graduate degree in Library and Information Science or allied subjects with not less than 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) from a recognized University. The ones who have completed Post-Graduate degree through distance mode from a recognized university and approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi are also eligible.

The aspirants can obtain the application form along with information brochure from Director, Department of Publications and Press, Osmania University by payment of Rs.100/-. One can also obtain the form via post for which a request along with self addressed envelope and DD of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University payable at Hyderabad have to be sent. The completed application accompanied with DD of Rs. 550/- has to reach The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Near University Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500007 on or before the due date.

How to fill the Form?

The applicants have to fill the application form with intense care. No column has to be left blank. The name, date of birth and other personal details entered in the form has to match with that in the higher secondary school certificate. The candidates may refer the information brochure obtained along with the application form which contains all the details regarding filling of form.
