Packaging Technology
Packaged products are the most common things that anyone encounters with in the day to day life. Packaging technology is the branch of engineering which is related to all the aspects of product packaging. It includes designing, developing, marketing and also testing of packages.
Eligibility:
In order to pursue a graduation course in packaging technology, the candidate must have completed the higher secondary school certificate exam from a recognized board. The subject studied by the candidate in the higher secondary schooling must have physics, chemistry and mathematics. The admissions to different colleges are on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate in the state level or the all India entrance tests. There are short term courses in packaging technology that can be done after graduation for skills up gradation.
Course Outlook:
The different types of courses are of different duration. Like the B.Tech course in packaging technology is of four year duration. The intensive courses in packaging technology are of three month duration. The diploma courses are of 3 year duration.
Job Prospects:
It is the work of packaging engineers to make goods covers what they look like. Almost every goods manufacturing company has a department of packaging which consist of packaging engineers. Their work is to design and produce the packages that may be a plastic wrap, or a paper bag, or a box package.
