Jaypee Institute of Information Technology conducts own entrance test for admission to M.Tech degree. Those with GATE qualification can also apply. The syllabus for the entrance test conducted for admission to M.Tech (Computational Biology) is based on topics of general sciences and biological sciences. Fifteen questions are asked from the section of general sciences and thirty five questions from biological sciences. Topics on Biostatistics, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science are asked from general sciences section where as questions on Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Immunology are mainly asked for the section of biological sciences.

Admission to M.Tech in SIT is done either on the basis of GATE or institute conducted entrance exam. Topics like Theory of Machines, Mechanical Engineering Design, Thermodynamics, Machining, and Operations Research are asked for SIT conducted entrance test. Reference books such as Strength of Materials by Rattan, Fluid Mechanics by Frank M. White, Engineering Thermodynamics by Rahul Gupta, and Manufacturing Science by A.Ghosh can be used for studies.

Graduates below 27 years of age are eligible to apply for the profile of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer in Intelligence Bureau (IB). Applications can be submitted online through the website of the Ministry of Home affairs till August 12, 2013. Application fee is Rs.100/-. Female candidates and SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee payment. Selection process is made through written test and interview conducted by IB. Objective as well as descriptive model questions are asked for the written test.

National institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar offers B.Tech degree in subjects such as Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology. HSC passed candidates having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply. They must pass IIT JEE (Main) or AIEEE with a valid score. Such students can join the course by paying the total fees of Rs. 34190/-. Semester wise tuition fees is Rs. 17, 500/-.
Career opportunities for B.Tech holders in Mineral Engineering are higher in public sector firms than in private sector. Indian Rare Earths Ltd, Hindustan Copper limited, etc often recruits them to engineer profiles by offering salary within the range of 15,000-40,000/- per month. Banks and Universities/institutions recruit them to Officer and Research Fellow profiles respectively. Private firms like Intergraph Consulting Pvt Ltd, Infosys, and Wipro also offer lucrative jobs to eligible candidates.

Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) offers courses in diverse fields of engineering, medicine, applied sciences, physiotherapy, nursing, and management. B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, M.Tech in Power Electronics, B.Tech in Electronics & Communications, etc is some of the engineering courses offered. Medicine related courses such as BMLT, Integrated M.Sc (Medical Biotechnology) and M.Sc in Medical Microbiology are offered at the University. Around 25% of admission to B.E courses in Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) is carried out on the basis of National Admission Test (NAT). HSC passed candidates with at least 45% marks can attend the test. The test comprises of objective model questions from topics of Physics and Chemistry. Applicants have the option to attend the test through online of offline mode.
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted for admission to MBBS course in India. Government Medical College, Aurangabad, M.P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar, Goa Medical College, Panaji, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur, etc are some of the colleges accepting NEET score in West India.
