College of Agriculture at Bhubaneswar, which is a constituent unit of the Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology came into existence in the year 1954 and the institute was previously called as Utkal Krushi Mahavidyalaya. The institute began its operations in a primary school building at Bhubaneswar. The institute was initially, functioning with only 32 UG students on roll for the B. Sc Agriculture Programme, subsequently the intake capacity of the institution went up to 256 students for meeting the technical manpower requirement in the field of Agriculture in Orissa.

Kannur District is one among the 14 districts in the state of Kerala and the district has the town of Kannur as its headquarters. The name of the district was Cannanore and the anglicized form of this term is Kannur in English.
