Gautam Buddha University was founded in the year 2008 under Government of Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002, the Government of India. The university is named after the famous saint, Gautam Buddha. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh state is the Chancellor of the university. Professor R.S. Nirjar is on the post of Vice-Chancellor in this university.
