Indian Overseas Bank was established in the year 1937 under the Government of India. The bank is famous for being one of the leading bank of Public Sector. The bank has its head quarters located in Chennai with branches spreaded in all over India. Mr. M. Narendra is the present Chairman and Managing Director of the bank. There are total 2018 domestic branches and six overseas branches of this bank at present. The bank has a network of about 771 ATMs spreaded in the country. Nupur Mitra and A. K. Bansal are the Executive Directors of the bank.

Job Profile:

Indian Overseas Bank is inviting online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up the vacant positions of Porbationary Officer JMGS-I. Candidates are required to ensure their eligibility for the post before applying for it in Indian Overseas Bank. Only those candidates, who have taken the Common Written Examination for Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees conducted by IBPS in September or November 20122 and obtained a valid IBPC CWE -PO/MT-2011 score card.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be either a citizen or India or a subject of Nepal, or a Tibetan Refugee etc.

The minimum age limit set for the post of Probationary Officer JMGS-I is 21 years as on 1 July 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Probationary Officer JMGS-I is 30 years as on 1 July 2011.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories may get relaxation of few years in the upper age limit as per the rules and regulations of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

Graduation degree from a recognized institute or university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate, is required as the minimum educational qualification. Besides this, computer literacy is also desirable for the post. However, candidates with Diploma in Banking & Finance from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, will get preference over others.

Vacancies for General candidates: Total 736 posts are available.
Vacancies for Scheduled Caste candidates: Total 223 posts are available.
Vacancies for Scheduled Tribe candidates: Total 149 posts are available.
Vacancies for OBC candidates: Total 392 posts are available.

Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 14500-25700 per month will be provided as salary to the candidates.

Application Fee:

An non refundable application fee of prescribed amount is need to be paid by the candidates before applying online for the post. Candidates must pay the application fee through payment reciept challan in any branch of Indian Overseas Bank. Candidates can pay the fee in cash only.

Application fee for General and OBC candidates: Rs. 200 only.
Application fee for SC/ST/PC candidates: Rs. 50 only.

How to apply: Candidates are required to apply through online mode only. Applications recieved through any other means or mode, will not be considered under any special circumstances. Candidates must have a valid personal e-mail ID.
