A quantity surveyor is a professional who handles all the cost related aspects of building construction and also civil engineering projects right from the initial calculations to the final figures. Their ultimate role is to minimize the overall cost of the projects and maximum benefit to the undertaking. They should also ensure the quality of the work as well. A Quantity Surveyor may be working either for a client or a contractor. They need to work in office as well as in construction sites. Qualifying Exam

Most of the reputed firms demand a B.Tech or B.E degree in Civil Engineering. Diploma holders in the field are also recruited by certain firms. Certain firms also demand a Master’s degree in the field depending on the job profile he is handling with. Certain other firms insist a Master’s degree in Business Administration as well.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Plus two pass outs with an aggregate of 55% marks can apply for Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Physics and Mathematics should be studied in the qualifying level exams.
  • Minimum 17 years is required to apply for this course.
  • One should score minimum marks in the entrance exams as well.
  • To opt for Master’s degree one should score good marks in the graduation level exam.

How to prepare for exam and interview?

    I am Doing training for Surveyor and Side by Side preparing for the IRDA exams …but during reading the books some paragraphs are difficult to understand the language .Can you tell me some easy way .So that i will clear my exams in 1st Exams
