Smt. K.B. Parekh College of Computer Science was established in the year 2000 by Shree Mahuva Education Trust. The college is affiliated to Bhavnagar University located at Bhavnagar in the state of Gujarat in India.
Course Offered:
As the name implies, Smt. K.B. Parekh College of Computer Application is a college meant specially for offering Bachelor of Computer Application.
Course Structure:
The duration of BCA course offered by the college is three years and the course is designed with the objective of developing the computer professionals in a number of application areas like management communication, social science, medical science, scientific research, government sector, business sector, etc… The course is also meets the industrial requirements of the field of computer application thereby acting as a bridge between industry and students.
Admission Procedure:
The college is following the rules and regulations set by Bhavnagar university from time to time for admitting students to the BCA course. If the number of eligible candidates exceeds the intake capacity, the college conducts an entrance test. The total intake capacity of the college is 70 students per year. Certain percentage of seats are reserved by the college for students belonging to backward community. In case the reserved seats are vacant, students from general candidates will be admitted to fill up the seat.
Scholarship:
The college is receiving funds to a tune of Rs. 2 lakhs every year from Triveni Kalyan Foundation and this fund is used by the college for providing scholarship to economically backward and meritorious students.
Activities:
The college is conducting regular seminars on career awareness and personality developing. It is also encouraging the students to take part in the programming competitions and quiz competitions thereby offering a better understanding to the students on their subjects.
