Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited is shortly called as APSPDCL and it was established according to the Government Gazette passed by the Andhra Pradesh Government on the 31st of March 2000. The headquarters and corporate office of the company is located in the city of Tirupati and it was formed for the purpose of distribution of electricity to six districts of the state of AP.

Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited has invited applications in prescribed format from eligible candidates for filling up of backlog vacancies on regular basis for the post of Sub-Engineer (electrical) and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Sub-Engineer (Electrical)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 43, which is divided among the six districts in which the company has operations as given below:

• Vijayawada – 05

• Guntur - 13

• Ongole - 11

• Nellore – 07

• Tirpuati – 03

• Kadapa - 04

Training-cum-probation: Selected candidates will be placed on training-cum-probation for a period of two years. During these two years, candidates will be paid at minimum of pay scale with other admissible allowances.

Job profile:

Candidates appointed for the position of Sub-Engineer (electrical) will be responsible for assisting section officer in all matters pertaining to section operation apart from maintenance of failure of transformers, accidents, monthly submission of reports pertaining to breakdowns, monthly MIS, collection of DDs and remittance, petty cash books and maintenance of operational records.

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates must have completed their degree or diploma in electrical engineering only through regular mode from a recognized university or institution.

Age: The minimum age requirement is 18 years and maximum age requirement is 34 years as on the 30th of November 2011. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates.

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on performance of candidates in written test and the minimum qualifying marks in the written test is 40% for OC, 35% for BC and 30% for SC/ST candidates.
