Tata Memorial Center conducts a DM/M.Ch common entrance test (TMC DM/M Ch CET) for selecting candidates to the respective course in their institution. Those candidates with the required eligibility can apply for this test. Candidates will be given stipends and all other facilities by the institution.

Structure of TMC DM/M Ch CET

There will be one hundred and twenty questions in the question paper. All the questions are multiple choice questions. These questions are to be completed in three hours. All the correct answers will be awarded one mark and similarly for all wrong answers one mark will be deducted. There will be different merit lists for each category. Those candidates who have secured 50% marks in each category will be listed in the rank list. These candidates who have scored good marks in the MCQ will be called for viva voice. Final rank list will be published only after taking into consideration the marks of both the examinations and by adding the two marks scored in the exams.

Candidates applying for surgical oncology, they will be asked questions from

  • ENT
  • General surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Gynecology

50% questions will be from those topics and the remaining will be from oncology related topics.

Candidates applying for Gynecological Oncology, they will be asked questions from gynecological oncology and general gynecology. Recent developments happening in this field will be also asked in the question paper.

Candidates applying for medical oncology will be asked questions from general medicine, hematology and various similar topics. Other questions will be based on medical oncology section. Recent developments happening in this field will be also asked in the question paper.

Clinical case and problem solving questions are also asked in the question paper.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for Dm medical oncology should have a post graduate degree in general medicine or Pediatrics or Radiotherapy. . This degree should be acquired from an MCI recognized college.

Candidates applying for M.Ch. Surgical Oncology should have a P G degree in General Surgery or ENT (Otorhinolaryngology) Or Orthopedics or Gynecology Surgery. This degree should be acquired from an MCI recognized college.

Candidates applying for M.Ch. Gynecological Oncology should have PG degree in Gynecological Surgery (MS or MD Gynecology equivalent). This degree should be acquired from an MCI recognized college.

Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam in not more than two attempts.

Candidates who are currently doing the post graduate course in any college across India are not eligible for attending the exam.

Candidates appearing for this entrance exam should be having an age above forty years.

In the case of sponsored candidates he / she submit certificates from the relevant authorities before attending the exam. They should also submit the application form with the above mentioned certificates before the last date. They should also forward this form to the Director Academics (TMC).Candidates who are sponsored will be not getting any stipend or  study leave during the three years of the course.

How to Apply?

Candidate should fill the form via net. After filling the form the candidate should download the form .All the attested copies of the documents should be submitted along with the application form. Candidate should take a printout of the filled form and then they need to sign it. This signed form with the documents should be sent to the office of the Director - Academics, TMC. “APPLICATION FOR DM/M.Ch COURSE”, this should be superscripted on the envelope. No other means of submitting the application form is accepted. Demand draft should be also sent along the envelope. DD should be in favour of “DIRECTOR - Tata Memorial Centre” .Rs. 5000/- (Rupees five thousand only) is the amount to be paid for writing this exam. Passport size photos should be affixed in the application form .This photo should be self attested.

How to fill the Form?

As the form is filled by online means, all the information needed will be given in the site itself. Printout of the form taken should be sent to the office only after thoroughly checking. All the documents should be attested .The photo affixed in the application form should be self attested. Application form should be signed before sending to the office.

Important Dates (Tentative)

  • Date for the application to reach the concerned office is in the month of June, 2012
  • Exam is on July second week, 2012
  • Viva will be conducted on the second of July, 2012

Prepare notes while studying each topic. Prepare separate notes for each topic. By doing so, they can be easily used for future references. Study all the topics in the syllabus. Do not leave any topic because we cannot tell from which topic more questions will be coming. Candidate can make use of the coaching center too if he / she cannot manage the subjects by themselves.
