The Training and Placement cell functioning in the College of Engineering Roorkee (COER), is responsible for arranging and coordinating different training activities for final year students. Training activities like personality development programs, industrial training and visits, guest lectures and Infosys campus connect programs are arranged inside the campus. Overview of Training and Placement in COER

A Training and Placement cell is the main authority which manages and coordinates the   various training and placement activities in College of Engineering Roorkee (COER). With an objective to conduct the placement activities in an efficient manner, the training and placement cell functioning in this college regularly conducts industrial workshops, soft skill training programs, guest lecturers and aptitude tests to enhance the skill level of students. An initiative to develop a good rapport with the top corporate houses, public sector undertakings and other private MNCs is also done by the college training and placement cell in charge. They organize weekly training programs and classes for students taken by leading industrialists and professionals in this area.

Training and Placement Activities organized by COER

In order to promote easy and better placement of students, the training and placement cell arranges a host of training activities for students which is mentioned below –

• Personality Development Programmes – In order to develop the soft skills and technical skills of students, personality development programs are initiated right from the first year of engineering course. The key training programs initiated in this area include regular tests in areas such as English language, Aptitude, reasoning and logic analysis, technical topics etc. Group Discussion, Presentation skills, Mock Interview (both HR and Technical interview rounds) also become part of the personality development programs organized for students.

• Industrial Training and Visits – These industrial training programs and visits are arranged with an objective to give students a better exposure to both the theoretical and practical side of various industrial processes and activities. Industrial visits are arranged during summer vacation for students in companies like HEL, J K Tyre, HCL Technologies, BARC, ONGC, L&T and lot of other top firms. It is compulsory for students to submit a final report of the industrial visit program.

• The college has also entered in to agreement with top companies such as Infosys, Oracle, and HCL for organizing continuous training activities for students.
