The University College of Medical Sciences was started its journey in the year 1971 as a Constituent College of Delhi. The college imparts various medical and paramedical courses to the students in order to build their career in medical fields. This college of medical is amongst the top ranking medical colleges of India. It is associated with Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital which is a teaching hospital with 1000 beds.
Infrastructure:
The University College of Medical Sciences is situated in the capital of India, New Delhi. The college provides full fledged campus to the students. The college provides up to date library, Central Workshop, labs which are equipped with modern instruments and classrooms. The college also gives hostel facility to its students and also provides internet connections.
Courses Offered:
This college offers a number of bachelor, master and doctorate level courses to the candidates like B.Sc., MBBS, MD/MS and Ph.D. It has departments in streams like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Dentistry, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Physiology and pediatrics etc.
Admission Procedure:
Admission into MBBS course is based on a qualifying exam. For that candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in individual subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2 exams or its equivalent. For admission in postgraduate one has to secure high marks in qualifying exams and need to have a MBBS degree. The seats available in this college for MBBS course is 100 and for MD/MS is 45.
Placement:
The college provides on campus placements to its students. The students from this college have been placed in various national, multinational health care centers and hospitals of India.
