Krishnagar Government College was established in the year 1846 on the 1st of January with the objective of offering liberal and modern education to the people of Nadia. The college received affiliation from Calcutta University in the year 1908 and it is currently offering education under the affiliation of University of Kalyani.

Intake Capacity of the College:

Krishnagar Government College has an intake capacity of 50 students for B.A in Political Science and 50 students each for other subjects. The intake capacity in the case of B. Sc courses is 45 students for geography, 40 for economics and 50 for mathematics. For B.A general course the intake capacity is 100 students and for B. Sc (general) it is 20 each for pure science and bioscience. For both the M.A courses, the intake capacity of the college is 60 students each and for M. Sc it is 25 students.

Eligibility for admission:

For getting admission to the first year degree courses offered by Krishnagar Government College, candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks in their higher secondary examination. For master degree courses, they must have completed their UG in respective discipline.
