Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and Technology was established by the Sri Ganesh Educational Trust and the college was established with the objective of spreading education and knowledge in the field of engineering and technology and exploring the hidden potential of students. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to the Pondicherry University for offering technical education courses.

Eligibility for admission to B. Tech course:

For getting into the Bachelor of Technology course offered by the Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and Technology candidates will have to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

• A pass in higher secondary or pre-degree examination with not less than 40% of marks in chemistry, physics and mathematics subjects

• A pass in higher secondary academic/vocational for SC/ST candidates

• The qualifying examination must have been completed by the candidates with a maximum of two attempts in the case of general category and three attempts for SC/ST candidates

• If a candidate has taken up improvement examination, he/she will have to apply with the marks secured in the first improvement examination

• The upper age limit to apply for B. Tech course is 21 years, which is relaxable by three years for reserved category candidates

• Candidates must have taken up entrance examination conducted by CETPPEC/AIEEE/CENTAC or registered association examination of self-financing engineering college in Pondicherry

• For direct admission to the second year of Bachelor of Technology course under lateral entry scheme, candidates with 60% of aggregate marks in the second and third year diploma courses are eligible to apply

• The upper age limit for lateral entry admission is 24 years, which is relaxable by three years for reserved category candidates

College library:

The central library at Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and Technology is a storehouse of knowledge with more than 6000 volumes of books and the library is fully-computerized with bar-coding systems on-par with international standards.
