Ananda College came into existence and is managed by the R.C. Diocese of Sivagangai. It is a self-supporting, co-education minority institution offering education with the motto of shine in love. Even though, this is a Christian minority institution, it admits students belonging to other religious communities as well. The college is offering education under arts, science and commerce stream with affiliation from the Alagappa University located in Karaikudi.

Eligibility for admission:

For seeking admission to the aforesaid courses, candidates must have completed their higher secondary in appropriate disciplines from a recognized board of education. For PG courses, candidates must have completed their UG course in appropriate discipline from a recognized university.

How to apply:

Candidates can get applications from the office of the college for applying to the college and applications forms are issued during the months of May every year for the following academic year. Candidates will have to submit the duly filled in application along with required copies of documents to the office of the college before the last date specified by the college for each year.

Hostels at the college:

Ananda College of Arts & Science has two separate hostels for men and women. The boys’ hostel is called as Joseph Hostel and the girls’ hostel is called as Josephine Hostel. These hostels act as boon for the first generation learners and students can get a peaceful and silent atmosphere for learning in the hostels. Students of the hostel are also offered with the opportunities to take part in cultural and fine arts activities as well. Both these hostels have the capacity to accommodate 160 students.

Library at the college:

The library at Ananda College has a collection of more than 7000 books including general books and books pertaining to commerce, computer science, physics, mathematics, biochemistry, English and Tamil. The general books category includes aptitude books, dictionaries and encyclopedias, etc… Apart from books, the library is also subscribing for 7 daily newspapers and 23 magazines.
