D.Ed Admission in DIET’s of Andhra Pradesh

Candidates who have completed HSC course can seek admission to Diploma in Education (D.Ed) course in Andhra Pradesh via a common entrance test, DIET CET. This two hour entrance test is conducted in 23 districts of the state. Those who qualify the test can look for admission to the course in Government District Institutes of Educational Training (DIETs) and Private Elementary Teacher Training Institutions in the state.

Eligibility Criteria for DIET CET

Only Indian nationals can apply for this common entrance test.  Eligible candidate must have completed 10+2 or intermediate with 45% marks. Aspirant belonging to SC/ST category needs only 40% marks to meet the required eligibility. Those who have appeared for HSC examination can also apply for the entrance exam provided they should have passed the examination at the time of admission.

Candidates who have passed HSC in vocational stream are not eligible to apply for the test.

Besides educational qualifications, candidate must satisfy certain age requirements also. Those who have completed 17 years of age can apply. There is no upper age limit for attending the test.

Scheme of DIET CET

There will be three parts for the test, Part I, Part II & Part III. In Part I there will be 5 questions each on General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude. Part II include 10 questions on General English and 20 questions on Tamil/ Telugu/Urdu language. For Part III, the subjects included and the number of questions asked is in the following pattern.

  • Biological Sciences -10 Questions
  • Mathematics -20 Questions
  • Physical Sciences -10 Questions
  • Social Studies- 20 Questions

So there will be a total of 100 questions each carrying 1 mark. Syllabus for the test is based on the subjects studied from VIII to X. Total time allotted for the completion of the test is 2 hours.

Application Procedure for DIET CET

Applications can be submitted online via the official portal of DIETCET. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 200/-. This can be submitted through AP online option or e-Seva centers. On receipt of fee, candidates are issued with a journal number.  After this they can start submitting the application via online method. Scanned copy of photograph having size specification of 3.5 X 3.5cms must be uploaded along with online application. Applications without photograph or unclear photographs will get rejected. Those who have submitted the application successfully will be intimated through e-Mail. Hall tickets for attending the exam can be downloaded from the official portal of DIET CET, http://dietcet.cgg.gov.in/.
