Can I join diploma 2nd year directly after completion of ITI course? or do I need to write some entrance exam? Can you please guide me in this? I really want to know the information which I am currently stuck up with. Hoping to hear the answers from you all.

Being a ITI holder you will be eligible for lateral entry admission through polytechnic entrance exam which is conducted on the state level by the technical education directorate of that state. You will be eligible for lateral entry admission in your stream only i.e in which you have done your ITI.

Performance in the entrance exam will decide the college in which you will get admission. The better the rank the better will be the college. The admission will be completed through counselling and you have to fill you choice of colleges and you will be allotted college according to your rank and availability of seat.

Direct admission is not possible for govt colleges mostly.You need to appear for Entrance exams conducted by your specific State govt Technical Council for lateral entry to Diploma.You need to appear in that and on qualifying the exam you will be given lateral admission directly to 2nd year of diploma.
Direct admission for lateral entry is not possible in most govt colleges although some does allow admission based on marks at ITI level but very rare and may not be even in your state.

No you can not get admission directly in 2nd year Diploma course after completing your ITI.
