Re: How to get selected in IIT? preparation? books?
dear friends
when you are in 11th class, only concentrate on your basics. Make one text book like i made ncert for physics and chemistry and r d sharma for maths. but at same time follow other books also try solving few multiple choice questions everyday. make it your habit. never think it completely depends upon institute only, its ones own dedication and trust on teachers. Going to kota, delhi etc is the not only way. One can achieve his aim at home only. Join various correspondence as much as you can solve. Keep your homework up to the date. there is no restriction on sitting hours one can sit as much as he feels are sufficient. but things must be done. initially it will take time to complete your homework but soon it will decrease. do play to keep mind healthy and fresh. give as many tests as one can. Join various test series. Of all, most important thing is REVISION. revise as much couse as you can as many times as possible. its not necessary to complete syllabus but whatever you do just final it and bring it to your fingertips. Near the exam time never go for new things just revise what you know. solve previous years jee solved papers. Consult your teachers for problems you face.Never hesitate. Its your hardwork and your ability to make things happening. all tha best. thank you |

Re: How to get selected in IIT? preparation? books?
Hello,
Make one thing clear. IIT is not a piece of cake that everyone can eat it. It requires a lot of hard work and a good preparation then only you stand a chance to get selected. Dont be a fool and not go to class. You need to attend classes to get your basics clear.I agree self study is a good thing but at times does not help you require good guidance as well. Anyway, coming to the books, i must say that you should refer to the following books. These books are the best among the others available as theycover your syllabus and provide understanding of the text in a simple language. Physics: *H.C.Verma(A Must) *NCERT(A Must) *Arihant Publication Mathematics: *R.D.Sharma and R.S.Agarwal(A Must) *M.L.Khanna(A Must Must) Chemistry: *NCERT(A Must) *O.P.Agarwal The books are available in leading book stores. You can purchase them through the internet too and get attractive discounts on them. Also, make sure you practice a lot of sample paper and give mock tests to assess your preparation. You may also consider to join a coaching institute who provide expert coaching in IIT preparation. Good Luck!! |
