generally the portion of iit is the mixed combination of 11 th as well as 12th.....
if u r gud at both the years then it becomes very simple to attempt as ur basics will be very clear.......... so concentrate on 12th std portion and attempt mock exam for gaining confidence......... best of luck |

Re: How to get selected in IIT? preparation? books?
The IITs use the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to select students for their undergraduate programmes.
The Joint Entrance Examination is one of the toughest science-oriented entrance exams in the world, testing applicants' knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The undergraduate acceptance rate at the IIT's through the JEE is around 2 per cent, with around 2,00,000 annual test takers. Since inception, the IITs have had a tough subjective pattern of questioning. In 2000, a preliminary test was introduced, thus allowing only top 10-15 thousand students to take the main examination. |

Re: How to get selected in IIT? preparation? books?
hello snazzyarunkumar,,
first of all...i would like to say that iit-jee is condsired one of the toughest exams so far,,but if you are really determined to do that,,you can get it cracked! iit-jee paper has a major prportion of class xi topics. Thus, you should strengthen the topics of your XI standard first rather studying on XII class topics. Also, most of the students dont take their XI seriously,,due to which their chances of cracking iit become very less because a lot of portion in clas XII is related with that of class XI..so prepare your XI very seriously..If your XI is clear,,half the way is paved! i would also like to suggest you that since you are in eleventh,,then you have enough time to prepare,so you should join coachings because the way with which the coaching faculties teach and clear doubts and give certain tips to the students...is considered to be very useful...if not able to,,then join the 1 month crash course,it brings out the best revision schedule you can ever think of....its over by my side. all the very best for your exam,, and till then... ENJOY..!!!!@@!!!! |

It is good that you are aiming for IITJEE but for that you must be quick and hard working. Your 12th result would have come 2 months back and still you are confused about really what to do. But it not too late. It would be good if you join some coaching classes and cover the entire syllabus. You can take any book but the first and last required thing is to cover the syllabus. General NCERT is sufficient for covering the syllabus and for preparation you should work out previous year IIT JEE question for be in touch with the exact labor required. Thank You |
