please tell me if we are not able to clear ies exam in first three or four attempts then is it waste for writing the exam for another attempt because even if you clear the written the exam you will be given least preference,

70% marks in 12th class as well as graduation.

the age requirement for Indian Economic services is between 21 to 30 years on or before 1st August 2010 and for Indian Engineering Services the age limit is 21 to 30 years on or before 1st january 2010.within this age limit you can apply as many times as you want.

yes you are eligible for the exam. Anybody whose age is in between 21 to 30 is eligible. So start preparing well for the exam

They are

One you must be an Engineering Graduate with Any One of the branch from either Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Descipline

Secondly your age must fall in between 21 to 30 years of Age.

I think you are not eligible.See the this year age limits below.

Age limits :-

The candidate age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years of age(i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August,1981 and not later than 1st August 1990.)

• Thirty years is given to the general candidates.
• Thirty three years is given to the OBC candidates.
• Thirty five years is given to the SC/ST candidates.

So,according to the age limits you are not eligible.So,try for next year....

For I.E.S :-

You must be a graduate engineering in Civil,Mechanical,Electrical,Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria For IES Exams

In order to appear for the UPSC IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam..the candidates must fulfill the following details :-

1) You should be a B.Tech degree holder or in the final year of your B.Tech in any of the following streams

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
Electrical Engineering

2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

The maximum number of attempts permitted for the general category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit..

So,yes you are definitely eligible for appearing in the IES exam..
