Re: ACP or SP: Which is the higher post?
Assistant Commissioner of Police is equivalent to Deputy Superintendant of Police. Deputy Commissioner, the next higher rank is equivalent to Superintendant of Police and Commissioner of Police is a higher rank which is either a person of the rank of superintendant of Police or the Deputy Inspector General of Police. However his appointment is in the metro cities. So it goes without an doubt that Assistant Commissioner of Police is defenitely lower than Superintendant of Police.

Re: ACP or SP: Which is the higher post?
ACP means Assistant Commissioner Of Police. SP means Superindent Of Police.
Commissioner post is nearly a highest rank in Police Department in a city. Assistant Commissioner is next to it. Thus Assistant Commissioner post is higher post when compared to SP post. |

Re: ACP or SP: Which is the higher post?
Sp is higher post than Acp. Sp means commandent officer(CO) and Acp means assistant command (AC) dont be confused that SP means DCP and Acp means Dsp . You can become acp after finishing 2 years of training but to become sp you need to get promote from acp, addl dcp than dcp(sp) dont get confused sp means deputy commissioner of police. So dcp(sp) is higher post than acp

ACP IS USUALLY POSTED IN BIGGER CITIES LIKE DELHI,MUMBAI,BANGALORE ETC MEANS ASSIST COMISSIONER OF POLICE AND SP USUALLY WHO LOOKS AFTER A DISTRICT IN A STATE IS EQUAL TO DEPUTY comissioner od Police so DCP is greater post to ACP-Ls COMMISSIONER OF POLICE.

Re: ACP or SP: Which is the higher post?
SP is higher rank than ACP. SP is of the rank of DCP(Deputy comissioner of police),while ACP(Assistant comissioner of police) is one step lower than DCP and thus lower than SP.If an IPS officer is oppointed at Muncipal city then he is ACP,DCP,CP,IG.....etc and when he is in non muncipal city he is ASP,DySp,SP......
