IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service, To become IAS Officer, You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised university, There is No Minimum percentage is required to apply for this examination, After completing your Graduation you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year in 2 stages :

>> Preliminary examination
>> Main examination

Preliminary examination is Objective and you have to cracked the Preliminary examination first, only then you will be eligible for Main examination.

Main examination is Descriptive one and you have to choose the subjects in this exam on the basis of graduation.

To apply for this examination you must have attained the age of 21 years and not have attained the age of 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. General candidates will gets 4 Attempts to cracked this examination, OBC will get 7 Attempts and No Limits for SC/ST Candidates.

The Notification of this examination will be Published on 04/Feb/2012 and the last date of apply for this examination 05/March/2012 and the examination will be held on 20/May/2012.

yes you can attend the IAS exam there is no percentage limit for it, the following is the requirement for IAS exam,


Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).

Yes, you are eligible for I.A.S exam after passing graduation with 45%.
I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-
>pass the graduation from recognized university.
> Age limit:-
For open category:-21-30year
For OBC category :- 21-33year
For ST/SC category:-21-37 year
> Number of attempts:-
For open category:- 4
For ST/SC category:-7
> Must be citizen of India.

The IAS exams are conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in every year.
There is NO minimum Percentage criteria is required for IAS exams.

Eligibility Criteria for IAS:-

**Graduation in any stream from any recognized university.

for general 21 to 30years.
for BC 21 to 33years.
for Sc/st 21 to 35years.
