NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by the University Grants Commission for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship .

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam .

You have completed MCA degree so you are applicable for NET Exam.You are completed MCA degree from sastra university so i think you are definitely applicable NET exam because this university is recognized .

The age criteria for NET exam-

Dear There,

The acronym for SET/NET is State Eligibility Test/National Eligibility Test.

Yes definitely, you are eligible for SET/NET examination.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination in India for postgraduate candidates who wish to qualify for admission in PhD research and/or university level teaching jobs in India.

NET examination is conducted by UGC(University Grants Commission) every year for the posts of JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) and Lectureship in the months of June and December.

The eligibility criteria required for NET examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of post-graduation in any stream from any UGC recognized university.

* 55% marks granted for General and OBC and 50% marks required for SC/ST contenders.

* Age limit:- 20-28 yrs - JRF.
No age bar - Lectureship.

* Nationality:- Indian.

NET examination pattern:-

Most certainly you are eligible for the National Eligibility Test. Sastra University is also recognized by the University Grants Commission therefore it would not be difficult to apply for the National Eligibility Test if you are meeting the criteria.

National Eligibility Test is conducted by University Grants Commission for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship. It is a national level entrance exam which is not easy to crack.

It is conducted 2 times in a year giving you the choice to either appear for it in June or December. If you want to appear for it, ensure that you are meeting the eligibility criteria that I am mentioning below.

Eligibility

1. Your nationality should be Indian.

2. At least post graduation degree is required.

3. Minimum marks in PG course required are 55 percent.

4. SC and ST should have at least 50 percent marks.

5. The students are allowed to appear during final year.

6. The subject for NET exam would be Computer Science and Applications for you.

7. There is no limit on appearences.

Age Criteria

1. Student applying for JRF should not be more than 28 years old.

2. But OBC can apply till 31 years.

3. While SC/ST is allowed to apply till 33 years.

4. No upper age limit is set for the college lectureship.

There is no difference in eligibility criteria for National Eligibility Test and the State Eligibility Test. The SET is conducted by each state separately.
