Yes, you are eligible for NET/SET exam. Master degree from a recognized institute is the basic qualification required. For NET exam the qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 55% marks. Upper age limit must be 28 years for NET-lectureship. Eligibility requirements for SET vary with state.

Re: Am I eligible for SET/NET exam if I am a student of 3 years MCA course?
Having passed first year by grace will not hamper your chances of applying for National Eligibility Test. You have to complete the post graduation with minimum of 55 percent marks. After that you are free to apply for the National Eligibility Test.
The test is conducted by University Grants Commission. Therefore your degree should be from a UGC recognized university otherwise you won't be allowed to appear for the National Eligibility Test. The criteria is same for the State Eligibility Test (SET). Even though the SET is conducted for the state education board, it requires the same criteria as the NET entrance exam which is conducted by the University Grants Commission. It includes that your college should be affiliated with UGC. Eligibility 1. Must be citizen of India. 2. Post graduation degree in any stream. 3. At least 55 percent marks. 4. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks. 5. Final year students can also apply for it. 6. But they should be able to submit degree within 2 years. 7. The NET subject for MCA degree holder will be "Computer Science and Applications". 8. There is unlimited number of attempts for NET. Age Limit 1. For JRF age limit is 28 years. 2. Three years relaxation for OBC. 3. Five years relaxation for SC/ST. 4. There is no upper age limit for college lectureship. |
