Am i eligible to sit for UGC NET exam after doing M.A in English through distance mode?
i have done M.A. in English through distance mode from Vinayaka Missions University in 2011. i have scored 67% marks. Am I eligible to sit for Ugc net exam?

hi,
NET exam stands for Nation Eligibility test which is conducted by UGC. Eligibility;- ----- The candidates must have Master’s Degree from an institution recognized by U.G.C. -----Those candidates who are studying in the first year of two years course or in first two semesters of a four semesters course of Master’s Degree cannot appear for this test. ------ There is no upper age limit. ----- M.C.M. students are not allowed to appear for SET Examination. Eligibilty to appear in the UGC NET exams is:
Post Graduation pass with Minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates Minimum 50% marks for SC/ST candidates Final year post Graduation candidates can also apply Next UGC NET exams are on 30th June 2013 If you fulfill the above eligibilty than you can apply Forms are being filled right now UGC NET Exams scheme of examinations: There are 3 papers in the NET exams All the three papers are in objective mode only Paper 1 - 100 Marks 50 questions of two marks each -common paper for all the candidates Paper 2 - 100 Marks 50 questions of two marks each - your subject paper Paper 3 - 150 Marks 75 questions of two marks each - your subject paper |

Hai,
Yeah you are eligible for NET(National Eligibility Test), a candidate who are completed their Post graduation with atleast 55%marks are eligible. NET exam conducted by the UGC every year twice. Eligibility Criteria:- The applicant should be complete Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% of marks from a recognised university. Final year candidates can also be eligible. For SC/ST candidates 5% of marks relaxation. Applicant should be an Indian citizen. There are two types in NET exam one is JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) and another one is Lectureship. Age criteria details for JRF:- The candidates age should be 28years, this is the maximum age limit. 3 years relaxation for OBC category candidates, 5 years relaxation for SC/ST category candidaesh Lectureship:-. There is no age limit for Lectureship applying candidates. So you are eligible for NET exam.
