Am I eligible to write the Judicial exam at the age of 42 years?


I have completed my LLB in 2002 and I enrolled in the Karnataka Bar Council in 2003 August. I have not practiced as advocate till now. I am 42 years old. Am I eligible to write the Judicial Exam?

Eligibility for Judicial Examination:

1. Candidate must be a citizen of India

2. The Age Limit for Judicial Examination is between 35 years to 45 years.

3. To become a judge it is essential that they must have served a legal office in India for not less than 10 years.

4. The procedure for selection shall be by written examination followed by Viva Voice.

No, you are not eligible to write for Judicial exam because you lack practice as an Advocate in legal office of India.

Upper age limit to write Judicial exam is upto 42 years. If you have attained more than 42 years, you are not eligible (applicable for Unreserved Category). If you belong to any of reserved categories i.e. SC,OBC,ST you are eligible to write the examination.
