Is B.Ed compulsory to apply for CTET examination?

I'm a graduate and wants to apply for CTET examination. However, I have heard that B.Ed is compulsory in order to appear for CTET exam. Is it true? Can't I apply for CTET exam on the basis of graduation only?

CTET refers to Central Teacher Eligibility Test and it comprises of two papers which includes CTET Paper I and CTET Paper II.

Now, as far as you are concerned about the compulsion of B.Ed for appearing in CTET examination, then it is must in the case of eligibility for appearing in CTET Paper II examination but not in the case of CTET Paper I examination for which even D.Ed/D.El.Ed degree is valid instead of B.Ed degree course.

So, you are not eligible to apply for CTET, only on the basis of graduation degree course only as a teacher training degree course is compulsory along with regular academic degree course to be eligible to apply for CTET.

For more detailed information regarding CTET eligibility conditions, you can refer to the link www.ctet.nic.in
