GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is the entrance exam for admission in post graduate course in technology that is master of technology. This entrance test is conducted every year by the IISC or IIT.
It is a computer based test of 100 marks and consists of 65 questions with negative marking. Any candidate who has done bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or master's degree in science, computer applications etc can apply for the exams. Earlier GATE application forms were available in banks. Now the application is done online only and the payment is done by using Debit card, Net banking etc. The last date for applying for GATE 2016 was 08th October, 2015. Online application is done at the official website of examination conducting authority. |
