Engineering is a vast area and students usually find it difficult to choose the appropriate course after 12th and writing entrance examinations.Since you have not mentioned anything about your academics I cannot give a specific answer.Do choose the course you are interested in.The most popular and career building courses are mechanical engineering and computer science..both of them have got better scope and job opportunities..Also institution you study also is a factor.. Actually the thing is whatever course and institution you choose ultimate aim should be to study well and score good marks...All the best..

To select the appropriate stream you need to analyse your skills. Like if you have interest for programming then computer science or information technology is the right choice. The course should help you in getting a job profile of your interest. The core areas of engineering are electronics, electrical, mechanical and civil. Other than this courses are offered in the area of marine engineering, industrial engineering, petroleum engineering, aeronautical engineering etc.

It depends on your interest.
But for your conseling I would like to answer. If you really want to earn money and with as ease in placement choose Civil Engineering and you can also go for Mechanical Engg. this is the only branch with evergreen oppurtunities. But If you have passion and want to earn a lot go for Electronics Engg. or Computer Science engg. but only if you are creative else promotions will be difficult.
