sir, you can refer following books.
Aitchison jean (1999) linguistics. Yule george (1996) the study of language. Poole stuart c. (1999) an introduction to linguistics. Fromkin, victoria and rodman robert 1998 an introduction to language. These books will be helpful.

at dis point of time i just need to know is the syllabus for entrance exam of masters in linguistics and do send me samples of testing items
