KAS meaning Karnataka Administrative Service Exam which is conducted by the KPSc is one of the most prestigious exams conducted by the karnataka state government. KAS exam is conducted for various jobs in the state government departments that are related to Group A and Group B posts.
To pass the Karnataka Administrative Service Exam, candidates are required to pass 2 written exams. First one is preliminary and second is Main exam. Although people suggest that both exams should be prepared separately which is not correct. By preparing for the Main exam you gain confidence for the preliminary exam. It is important to pass preliminary exam before you can appear in the main exam. The preliminary exam takes place in February every year. Those who pass this exam would be eligible to appear for Main exam in June. KAS Eligibility:- Candidate must be Indian National Candidate must have graduation degree from a recognised university in any stream. The final year students of graduation course may also apply for KAS. The Age limit for General candidates is 21 to 30 years. OBC - 21 to 33 years SC/ST - 21 to 35 years. Exam Patterm:- Preliminary Exam Main exam Interview Preliminary Exam:- There are two papers in preliminary exams with subjects like current affairs, Humanities, Arts, History, General Knowledge, Science & Technology, Environment & Ecology etc. Main Exam The pattern of Main examination is considered to be similar as IAS Exam. There are total of 9 papers out of which 4 are on 2 subjects selected by the candidate. Paper – I : Compulsory Kannada Paper – II : Compulsory English Paper – III : General Studies (Paper – I) Paper – IV : General Studies (Paper – II) List of Subjects for next two exams:- Agriculture, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing And Co-Operation Mathematics Management Urdu Syllabus Rural Development & Co-operation Statistics Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Sciences And Fisheries Anthropology Law Civil Engineering Botany Zoology Chemistry English Commerce, Accounting:, Business Organization & Secretarial Practice Economics, Karnataka Economy Criminology Electrical Engineering Physics Mechanical Engineering Kannada Philosophy Books to Prepare for KAS Exam:- Indian Politics by Lakshmikanth R.S.Agarwal Arithmetic Brief Introduction to Indian Constitution by Xaviers Pinto Essential of Grammar- Oxford Publications Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation by Arun Sharma |
